Danny Harris knocks over a witch, who puts a spell on his bike. As a result of this, he cycles around the world meeting, and knocking over indigenous folks from every corner of the globe. The five year old to whom I read it, loved the book. Its nicely drawn, too, in a style that marries the dreamy coloured detail of Quentin Blake with a comic book sensibility. The rhyming tale is adapted from an earlier Brian Patten poem, The Saga of the Doomed Cyclist.
